We continued our "virtual" study abroad at The University of Sheffield's English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) in a three-day lecture and discussion programme.

Various topics
The 45-minute lectures covered a range of topics:

• How does music affect our health? On Monday, we learned about the influence of music on our psychology and well-being.
• Have you ever considered how street lighting affects our behaviour and sense of danger? This was Tuesday's topic.
• The 20^th century was a period of great social change.
  Wednesday's lecture examined some of the changes.
  

Prepare → Listen → Discuss
Each session began with self-study materials to prepare for that day's lecture. Next we attended the lecture, which was all in English! Finally, ELTC's instructors led us through a discussion of the content.

Having recently completed a one-week online study course, this three-day lecture programme was a chance for us to test our listening and discussion skills. Thank you, ELTC, for the great opportunity!
