About the College
The curriculum for the new College of Liberal Arts and Sciences consists of two major divisions: those courses which all students are required to take as a common basis, called the Common Curriculum, and those courses required by respective faculties, called the Faculty-specific Curriculum. The mission of Mie University, to train students to become positive and active contributors to society and the workforce through specialized knowledge and training based upon a broad foundation, rests upon enrollment in these courses either prior to or concurrent with specialization courses.
